For the cold season there is nothing better than some recipes for stews from Grandma. This Galician pot is a traditional stew that provides a lot of energy, conserving heat very well, making it ideal for rainy or snowy days.

Originally from Galicia, one of the regions of Spain that has a more varied and well-known gastronomy, the Galician pot contains legumes, vegetables and meat. A varied and balanced dish, cooked over low heat, unforgettable!

  • 200 gr of white beans
  • 50 gr of oil
  • 250 gr salted bacon
  • 300 gr of salted pork ribs without marinating
  • 200 gr of pork backbone
  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 1 bunch of turnip greens

1. Soak the beans the night before in a pot of water.

2. Soak the pork rib, backbone, and bacon. You drain it well and boil it for 40 minutes in a pressure cooker with plenty of water.

2. Now you open the pot and add the beans. Cook for 15 more minutes.

3. Open the pot again and add the potatoes, peeled and cascaded, and the turnip tops, chopped. Cook for 10 more minutes. Open the pot and remove the spine.

4. You can serve it now. Don't forget to add some bacon and rib to each plate. Bon Appetite!
